TAP FEE:  $325

A $325 tap fee will be incurred on all residential natural gas service line requests. The fee covers  the following required parts of a service line: risers, excess flow valve, polyethylene gas pipe (ft) and tracer wire.

 

The installation of your natural gas service line can be accomplished in two ways:

1. OPEN CUT or TRENCH FEE: $5.48 per foot

The service line will measure from the property line to the site of the meter location.

What does trenching mean? Trenching is a construction method that involves digging a trench in the ground to install, maintain or inspect pipes conduits or cables underground. When the installation of the pipe, conduit or cable is completed, the trench is back-filled and disturbed grounds are returned to their original state, insofar as possible.

2. BORE FEE:$10.23 per foot

The service line will be measured from the property line to the site of the meter.

What does bore mean:  A bore is a horizontal hole produced underground primarily for the purpose of installing services. It is the underground tunnel in construction that's created to house cables, pipes or conduits. A bore is not created using conventional trenching. A bore is, most often, created by a horizontal directional drilling (HDD) rig, a boring machine, or a micro tunneling boring machine.

How to Qualify for a FREE Tap Fee & Service Line

Save the expense of a tap fee by installing a natural gas furnace or natural gas water heater to your home. To qualify, the gas main must be adjacent to the property.

 

Homeowner now has the option to select what method they prefer to have a natural gas service line installed.

 

Choose one of these two options for your natural gas service line installation:

Tap Fee: No Charge
Customer requested trenched service receives up to 75’ of a natural gas service line free. If the service line is over 75’, the customer will incur a charge of $5.48 per foot. The starting point is at the homeowner’s property line to meter location.

 

2. BORE FEE:

Tap Fee: No Charge

Customer requested bored service incurs a charge of $4.75 per foot up to 75’. If the service line is over 75’, the customer will incur a charge of $10.23 per foot. The starting point is at the homeowner’s property line to meter location.
